Mario Calantoc is a new faculty member to East Village Middle College High School and is teaching Integrated Math (IM) I and IM II. He has worked in the Sweetwater Union High School District and Gompers Preparatory Academy prior to his start at EVMCHS.
Mario holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Mathematics from San Diego State University (Go Aztecs!) and currently working on a Masters of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University.
What do you enjoy most about working at EVMCHS?
While my time with EVMCHS has been short, I enjoy the students, staff, and the ambience of the school. I am an advocate for continuing to learn and trying to be better than we were yesterday.
When you're not being an amazing teacher, what are some hobbies you have outside of EVMCHS?
Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and son, reading, exercising/playing sports, listening to music, learning a new recipe to cook, and relaxing. My siblings can be competitive when it comes to sports which is a great way to get out the house.
